Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Abda Fayyaz is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist whose intricate hand-drawn works explore abstraction through repetition, rhythm, and the meditative potential of mark-making. Rooted in contemporary abstraction and informed by calligraphic spatial logic, her practice reflects on time, transformation, memory, and interconnected systems found in nature and consciousness. Developed over more than twelve years, her compositions balance precision, restraint, and subtle instability, creating dense surfaces that shift perceptually through sustained viewing. Rather than relying on direct symbolism, her works evoke stillness, continuity, and contemplation. Over the past three years, Fayyaz has participated in nearly thirty exhibitions across the UAE and internationally, including Paris and London, with presentations at Maraya Art Centre and three consecutive editions of DIFC Art Nights.
