ad.inf

ad.inf is a multidisciplinary artist from Munich, Germany.

The pseudonym is an abbreviation of: “ad infinitum“, a Latin expression, meaning: to infinity. It is also sort of an acronym: a for analog, d for digital and inf. stands for the natural aspect by implying infiniteness as a fundamental principle, as a law of nature. Accordingly, ad.inf's guiding principle is: no reservations and no limitations.

Artist statement:

“I am an autodidact, and I work in various fields. I feel a deep connection with nature. She serves as the most important source of inspiration for me. From a young age, I developed a strong interest in vegetation, waters, stones, woods, their wealth of colors, forms and surfaces, and the fine structures and patterns they contain. I have been captivated by this magic ever since. In general, I am passionate about textures, structures, and patterns, wherever they occur: in nature, in an urban/industrial context, or in the digital domain. My work mainly consists of abstract compositions centered around this personal fable. I create paintings, graphics, photographs, collages, objects, sculptures, installations... and I also engage with sound(s), given my background in audio engineering. I approach my visions with an experimental mindset and enjoy exploring different media and techniques. In my artistic process, I jump back and forth between them. I trust my instincts, tune into and follow the creative flow, that connects me to my inner child.”
