Alexander Buss

 

Alexander has lived and worked in Cologne since 1985. At a young age Alexander was exposed to Beatles portraits by Richard Avedon, works by Andy Warhol in Stern and a series of pictures of a Rolling Stones concert time magazine, he was so impressed by the images and realized this is something he wanted to do.

After high school graduation, civilian service, some travel and jobs he studied in Dortmund, among others, with Pan Walter photo design and graduated. While at school, he assisted the landscape and advertising photographer Walter Sack for 2 years. Together with his fellow student Rainer Ehricke, he set up his own business in Cologne in 1985. In 1996 he was offered a teaching position at the Gesamthochschule Wuppertal, which he held until 1999 in the reports Design, Creative Concepts and Concepts. In 1999 he co-wrote and published a book on digital photography on behalf of the MITP Verlag Bonn.

He has designed and implemented various films and animated presentations for various corporations, including with TV presenter Hans Meiser, the film production Wesat-TV and various advertising agencies. In 2007, Alexander Buss founded a digital agency with Rainer Ehricke and, among other things, built and operated the website neuwagen.de. After his illness at the end of 2018, he has decided to go back to photography and dedicate himself entirely to his artistic work.
