Alexandra Gorev
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
I’m a traditional oil painter working within neo-surrealism, influenced by the Japanese concept of ayashii—a blend of the uncanny and subtle beauty that shapes my visual language. I combine classical techniques with contemporary emotional themes. My paintings often address everyday injustices, shared personal traumas, and broader social tensions. While sometimes unsettling, they invite quiet reflection and deeper engagement with what lies beneath the surface. In a world saturated with superficial imagery, I aim to create work that truly resonates and invites meaningful connection.
