Artist Biography / Artist Statement:

Alexandra Rotar
Visual artist & architect, based in Brașov, Romania

My artistic practice explores the silent dialogue between presence and space. With a background in
architecture and a long-standing engagement with painting, I focus on how human absence can become a
form of presence — embedded in walls, shadows, objects, and silence. Through oil on canvas, I attempt to
capture what lingers: memory, fragility, and what often remains unseen.

The works submitted form part of an ongoing personal research into the thresholds between human life
and space — a visual exploration of presence, not through the body, but through its echo in matter.
