Alia Al Bazei

Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Alia Al-Bazei is a Saudi multidisciplinary artist exploring the Bayn—the conceptual “space between” deep-rooted heritage and contemporary evolution. As Head of Art Residencies at the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, her practice serves as a sophisticated dialogue between cultural preservation and modern innovation. Alia’s work oscillates between the visceral nature of physical mediums—oils and organic pigments—and the precision of digital painting. Her minimalist aesthetic deconstructs traditional Saudi motifs, from rhythmic energy to the geometric silhouettes of Najdi architecture, transforming them into a tactile visual language.

Following her 2026 showcase at the Carrousel du Louvre, Alia is preparing for a landmark solo exhibition in November, featuring large-scale fabric and wood installations. Her work remains a dedicated exploration of “The Physical Archive,” capturing cultural memory through form and texture.
