Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Alisa Teletović is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Australian visual artist whose internationally exhibited work explores memory, identity, migration, belonging, and human resilience. A survivor of war displacement and former refugee, she has transformed her personal journey across continents into a lifelong artistic practice dedicated to cultural dialogue and community connection.

Following seventeen years in Australia, where she established a successful independent career and graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne, Teletović returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina with a vision of strengthening the role of art in society. Alisa's practice is an ongoing exploration of expressive, intuitive mark-making. Through layered compositions and emotionally charged surfaces, she creates visual stories that invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences, memories, and inner landscapes. Paintings become alive in their own lifetime and space.
