ANAMARIA MBF DESIGN

Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Anamarija Matić is a Croatian contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores the intersection of architecture, materiality, and gesture. Trained and working as an interior designer, she incorporates construction tools and architectural processes into her artistic practice, transforming industrial materials and techniques into expressive abstract compositions. Through layered textures, bold gestures, and geometric interventions, her paintings examine the balance between structure and spontaneity, order and disruption. Music often serves as an underlying influence, shaping rhythm, movement, and visual harmony within her work. Her paintings invite viewers to experience space not only as a physical environment but also as an emotional landscape. Matić has exhibited internationally, including in Venice, Milan, Rome, and Barcelona, where her work continues to engage audiences through its architectural language and contemporary abstract expression.
