Anna Perek-Sobierajska

Artist Biography / Artist Statement:

A graduate of the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań, she graduated with distinction in two fields: Industrial Design and Painting, with a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning.

She has won competitions in furniture design, graphic design, and painting. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She is a visual artist, educator, cultural animator, and curator of solo and group exhibitions.

After graduation, she pursued a wide range of design and artistic pursuits. Currently, her work focuses on sculpture, painting, and artistic mosaics. She creates figurative sculptures using the technique of hardened fabric, a method she developed through experimentation and her search for a personal artistic expression. This technique allows her sculptures to remain lightweight, while the hardening method makes them highly durable.
