Bruku Velo was born on October 19, 1994, in Tirana, Albania. Her journey into the world of art began naturally, alongside an academic background in economics and an inner calling that would gradually become her most powerful language: painting.

She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics from the European University of Tirana. During her university years, Bruku discovered a profound connection with visual art. The time she spent in an art studio near the university became the starting point of a passion that, although temporarily interrupted, would never truly fade.

After a three-year break, Bruku Velo returned to the art world in 2021 with renewed determination. Her first solo exhibition in Paris, held at Maison de l'Albanie, marked the beginning of a new and significant chapter in her creative life.

In 2022, she presented a solo exhibition in Tirana inspired by war and human tragedy, with a particular focus on the war in Ukraine. Through color, form, and emotion, the artist approached war not merely as a historical event, but as a human wound — an experience that touches memory, fear, loss, and hope.

Bruku Velo’s art does not simply seek to describe reality. It seeks to feel it.

Her works emerge from a world where emotions confront reality, where pain can be transformed into beauty, and where silence can take the form of an image. Through her artistic practice, she explores the relationship between the individual and the world around them, bringing forward human, social, and universal themes.

Since returning to the art world, Bruku has developed an increasingly international presence. She participated in the Luxembourg Art Prize in 2022 and 2023, receiving official participation certificates, while her work was also selected as a finalist in a caricature competition in Belgium.

During 2023–2024, her works were presented on international artistic stages, including New York, London, Barcelona, Paris, and Budapest, as well as through international virtual exhibitions.

Her work has been exhibited at venues including One Art Space in New York, Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, MEAM — European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, the Louvre Museum in Paris, and Toolip Art Gallery in Budapest.

For Bruku Velo, art is more than a profession. It is a way of communicating what words often fail to express.

From Tirana, the city where her artistic journey began, to international galleries and artistic stages, she continues to build a creative universe of her own — a universe where emotion becomes color, memory becomes form, and human experience becomes art.
