Artist Biography / Artist Statement:

I was born in China and moved to Hong Kong when I was in my mid-twenties. I migrated to the UK in the late 1980s until I went back to Hong Kong in 2015.

Since the early 1970s, I have studied Western painting under the tutelage of the renowned Hong Kong painter Mr. Zhou Gongli (1903–1989) and the Lingnan calligrapher Mr. Li Wei (1927–2016). I am also the second-generation student of Lingnan clerical script master Wu Zifu (1899–1979).

I have persisted in studying and researching Chinese painting and calligraphy, as well as Western painting art. I created many works when I was young, and in recent years, I have developed a new painting technique integrating Western art with Chinese influence.
