Artist Biography / Artist Statement

After over a decade of trying to make it as a writer of novels, poetry, and short fiction, I returned to painting upon rediscovering an old canvas in my loft—a moment that felt like coming home.

I am now a portrait artist whose creative path has always been inspired by the search for identity, belonging, and purpose.

My work explores hope, resilience, and human connection through expressive portraiture, shaped by faith and a belief in art’s ability to uplift. I paint to help people feel seen and encourage strength in identity.

Many of my subjects gaze upward, inviting viewers to lift their eyes beyond circumstance toward possibility and truth.

I also find painting women to be a message of empowerment, elegance, and beauty that always resonates.
