Artist Biography / Artist Statement:

For me, art means giving form and expression to my dreams and visions.
My works include oil paintings, objects, sculptures, reliefs, and light objects.
I like to combine different materials with each other.
On the one hand, my works are colourful and surreal. On the other hand, I design the sculptures with mineral surfaces and structures from nature. These surfaces give the works a unique surface, feel, and colour.
I am fascinated by the incredible diversity of life again and again and would like to implement it artistically in new compositions. I draw my inspirations from nature and find new ideas and impulses during the artistic work that I implement.

Elia Bechtel was born in Basel, Switzerland, in 1981.
Works as a sculptor and artist in Basel, Switzerland.
