FotoKore
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
Kore Heerema (1990) discovered his interest in photography from a young age, portraying friends and family while capturing scenes from nature. As this passion grew more serious, he pursued studies at the Fotovakschool and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
His work explores the intersection of reality and imagination, drawn to shapes, line work, and colour combinations. Recognizable objects dissolve into patterns that challenge perception. By isolating and reinterpreting fragments of the everyday, he creates images that allow the mind to wander beyond the ordinary. Through manipulation, shifts in focus, and movement, he uncovers hidden beauty in chaos, rhythm in randomness, and harmony in contrast. His photographs are intended to provoke a visceral reaction rather than convey a literal meaning, leaving space for each viewer to form their own emotions and interpretations.
