Francis Akpata

"I have always had a creative sense and started drawing and painting when I was about 9 years old. I studied Philosophy at King's College London, with a focus on Aesthetics. After graduation, I pursued painting studies at the City Literary Institute and Walthamstow College.

I view painting as an ongoing optical dialogue, where the artist continuously describes their consciously or subconsciously experienced sensations. I frequently experiment with various techniques and genres. My artistic style is a fusion of expressionism, African sculptural depictions, and abstraction. Currently, I am concentrating on creating optical paintings and figurative drawings in charcoal and watercolor.”
