Artist Biography:

Hendrikka Waage is an Icelandic jewelry designer-turned-painter based in London. Her interest in the arts began during her upbringing, where she was surrounded by people sculpting and painting. After 20 years as a jewelry designer, Hendrikka felt that painting was the next step in her artistic career. She started painting her series "Wonderful Beings" a few years ago.

The series presents a simple concept with a powerful message—portraits of ladies with a single ear. The theme is open to interpretation, suggesting that in today’s world, with an influx of information coming from every direction, you don't have to listen to everything. Her art is influenced by the rich cultural traditions of the countries she has lived in, including Iceland, Japan, and Russia.
