Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Konul is an Azerbaijani artist and designer whose work bridges fine art, cultural heritage, and contemporary textiles. She graduated from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 and later earned an MBA in Turkey, developing a multidisciplinary perspective. In recent years, Konul has fully dedicated herself to painting, taking her practice to a new level and establishing herself as a committed artist. Working primarily with oil paints, she explores the interplay of color and light, conveying emotional essence and subtle energy.

She is the founder of SoulMirror, a contemporary pure silk shawl brand that transforms original artworks by various artists into refined textile pieces. Some of the pure silk shawls, handmade using traditional techniques included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, merge cultural memory with modern art.
