Artist Biography / Artist Statement

L. Renee Williams is a visual artist who returned to art during a season of deep reflection, rediscovering it as a place to process, ground herself, and express truth. She works across textured abstraction and softened figurative form, using acrylic, gesso, and layered surfaces to translate inner and spiritual experience into tactile presence. Rooted first in portrait drawing, her painting practice now allows greater freedom and trust in intuition over perfection. Her work does not aim to explain or fix the human experience, but to sit with it. Through texture, restraint, softened forms, and subtle figurative elements, she creates space for reflection and solitude. Each piece invites stillness, honesty, and a sense of being seen and held.
