Lea Karvala

Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
I often ask: "What else exists that is not immediately visible?" Nature, especially the sky, is an endless source of inspiration. My paintings are expressive, often spontaneous, and increasingly abstract. I mostly paint with a palette knife, which creates strong textures. Colours and layered surfaces are central to my art. Acrylic paints fit my fast-working style, as I am initially guided by intuition. As the painting progresses, I make decisions more based on experience and knowledge.
Painting is not meant to be hidden for me. It is a handmade, unique creation – meant to be seen, experienced, and remembered.
