Leslie Stevens
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
My art is a celebration of noticing everyday life. Primarily focused around women and their invisible lives of rest, caretaking, and play. I have a hard time narrowing down my focus, as I also really enjoy painting fish, abstracts, and animals caught unaware—which I find humorous. I am primarily self-taught, but have studied under many masters, including Lee Price and Mary Nolan, and have been painting for nearly 15 years.
I work in all mediums, and in all of my paintings I’m primarily attracted to the portrayal of light, as it signifies an aching desire to glow and represent whatever inner essence is being painted—which I feel all humans can relate to. Being brave enough to let our inner essence shine!
Thank you!
Leslie
