Teascarlet
Teascarlet (American, 1981)
Teascarlet is the pen name Hannah Sucsy coined for herself as a young teen. It means “tears of scarlet,” because she felt that her creativity was the blood running through her veins. Teascarlet was born an artist, but it wasn’t until her mid-thirties that she began to paint with intention.
This self-taught acrylic painter draws her inspiration from the scenery at her home in rural Idaho, yet her style is anything but small-town. Her main bodies of work are dynamic abstracts, sensual flowers, and ethereal trees. Viewers remark that even though they see pain in her art, they feel a stronger sense of hope, healing, and passion. Her goal through her art is to connect herself and others to the fullness of life, both its gravity and glory.
