Mark Jarzombek

Artist Biography / Artist Statement:

Mark Jarzombek builds wall sculptures that engage directly with their architectural surroundings—works that exist in negotiation with the wall itself. His pieces explore the tensions of gravity, stability, and precariousness, revealing the dialogue between material and environment.

Working with a range of media, often incorporating found materials from construction sites, Jarzombek enhances and transforms these remnants into poetic structures. His distinct color palette and compositional sensibility blur the boundary between painting and sculpture, positioning him simultaneously as both painter and sculptor. Each work reflects his fascination with balance, texture, and the sculptural possibilities inherent in everyday materials.
