Martina Dalla Stella

“My painting represents a personal quest to comprehend contemporaneity, with all its contradictions and sorrows, yet also its simplicity and beauty. It unveils a subjective and feminine endeavor to connect with humanity, often depicting human fragility without heroism. My exploration delves into concepts of wounds, healing, metamorphosis, memory, predominantly from a female perspective.

Brushstrokes vary, sometimes swift with loosely defined shapes, other times involving drippings and splashes of colors. These liberating gestures aim to capture the essence of the subject.

For me, painting is like breathing; it's essential. My educational journey includes a major in Art from the University of Bologna and a degree in Contemporary Art from the School of Specialization in Historical and Artistic Heritage of the University of Siena. I've alternated between study periods in Italy and extended stays abroad, particularly in Portugal, Argentina, and Uruguay. Travel has always been an integral part of my artistic and personal exploration, both in the past and present. I hold a teaching qualification from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. I've exhibited my work both in Italy and internationally, in group and solo exhibitions. Currently, I reside in an old yet charming house near a river in a small village situated between Venice and the Italian Alps.”
