Michal Ava

Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Michal Ava's connection to spirit guides her expression. Her art is inspired by her time in the jungle, where she overcame her fear and learned to trust life.

My American name was given as Ava Satnick, and yet I cried tears when I first spoke my full Hebrew, or soul, name out loud: Michal Aliza bat Tzivia Hashka. A deep remembrance had awakened. I am a Jewish woman. I am from a Jewish woman.

My profession is doctor, and yet I cried tears when my soul awakened. A deep remembrance had awakened. I am an artist.

I worked hard to build in the material world, and yet I cried tears when I first prayed out loud. A deep remembrance has awakened. My faith is my ultimate resource, upon which everything else is built.
