Nadine Collado

Artist Biography / Artist Statement

In the CV of life we have many chapters. My third chapter is a real departure from the senior echelons of corporate life and higher education. It is this one—where time stands still and the mind flourishes as paint hits the canvas.

Unless it is a commission, I never know what I am going to paint, which allows me to create my favourite type of art—abstracts.

Abstracts are a total joy for me, especially when working with vibrant, typically saturated colours.

My art is important to me for a number of reasons. The process is liberating, and every piece is an act of spontaneity. The painting takes its own journey. The layering, textures, and tonality allow the viewer to use their own imagination.
