Nitu Pilania
Nitu Pilania Dahiya is a New Jersey, USA based visual artist who was born in a small village named Waiser in India. She finished her early education in her hometown and received her Bachelor's degree in commerce and received a diploma in fashion design in New Delhi. She describes living in India as being part of a vibrant, energetic carnival. "India is a bold and unabashed country that offers you fascinating experiences everyday."
Nitu's paintings are inspired by Indian Mythology. Radha Krishna is the symbol of divine love and the bond of togetherness. Each piece she creates is an extension of her past, where she comes from, and what she has learned. She likes to capture beauty by exploring colors, brushstrokes, gold leaf, and textures in her artwork.
Artist Statement:
As an artist, I am interested in creating art that calls for the audience's participation to the same extent as my involvement in it. Each painting is a song and the lyrics are the acrylics on my canvas. I try to combine the fluidity of music with the silence of the painting. No matter how life is going for me, creating art is always one of my more accessible paths to express my emotions and spread positivity to the people around me.
