Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Lena Kravtsova was born in Ukraine, where she has lived all her life. She graduated from a linguistic university, taught students for 25 years, earned her PhD in historical sciences, and one day decided to change her vocation and call herself an artist — because she cannot imagine her being without paints and brushes, let alone endless imagination. It makes her feel alive even when she is bored or just tired.

She also has an endless curiosity, which helps her connect with all generations. Her artistic focus lies primarily in collage, for which she colors and prints paper by hand. She also works in graphics and linocut.
