Artist Statement:
"Early on in my life, I explored many cultures and came across new styles of art and music - which, in turn, brought me new ways of thinking and allowed me to look at things differently. This experience led to an explosion of curiosity and I started exploring even more cultures through food, art & music. While, I was working in the beautiful city of Modena, Italy, I came across one of my greatest inspirations, Leonardo Da Vinci. The story behind his work and what he has done continues to inspire me to this day. I was stunned and mesmerized when I came to know about his life and his destroyed works.
I have a very keen interest in Cosmology & Astronomy because of my schooling background as a science major. I started reading books on these topics by various physicists & scientists. I started sketching in April 2021 and at that point, I had no vision of myself painting on a canvas one day. Finally, in the month of August, I took that leap of faith and started painting on canvas. Since then I couldn’t hold myself back and was painting every day. I started using all the concepts and theories that I learned while reading different books and exploring different cultures. In many of my works, I used a lot of culinary equipment. At the initial stage, I was very much focused on creating different types of landscape paintings & Space art but gradually I started using various techniques such as fluid, abstract & contemporary. All of these paintings & sketches that I created were very surreal for me because when I was a child I didn’t how to draw. To be honest, I didn’t know how it was going to turn out for me - but eventually, I found a way to explore my thoughts, which were otherworldly, through experimenting on canvas and paper using a lot of vivid colours and different techniques. The most important reason for me to start painting every day was because it is difficult to portray my thoughts in a culinary world, food products have physical limitations, whereas colours & canvas don’t have any.”
