Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
Shahd ElWardany is a full-time Egyptian visual artist based in Cairo. Her work explores the intersection of fantasy and identity through vibrant, mixed-media paintings. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, she reimagines animals as human figures—dressed, posed, and placed in whimsical, surreal yet familiar settings. A graduate in visual arts, Shahd has been painting since the age of five. Her distinctive style is defined by bold colour palettes, playful storytelling, and a strong narrative presence that invites viewers into a world where reality and imagination coexist.
