Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Shivani Sharma is a London- and Toronto-based photographer whose work explores womanhood, visibility, and stillness within the context of contemporary urban life. Blending editorial precision with conceptual inquiry, her imagery investigates the intersections of time, identity, and the female gaze. Through a careful balance of intimacy and structure, Sharma’s practice reveals the quiet tensions between presence and absence, surface and emotion.

Bridging commercial and fine-art contexts, her work reflects a refined dialogue between aesthetics and narrative intent—one that speaks to both personal and collective experience. Sharma holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from OCAD University in Toronto.
