Weiyi Chen
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
Weiyi Chen (b. 1997, Chongqing, China) is a London-based textile artist who graduated from Chelsea College of Arts with a Master’s degree in Textile Design in 2023. Chen’s work explores the emotional and cultural connections between natural materials, personal identity, and human experiences.
Centered on natural dye and machine knitting, she integrates diverse textile techniques, including Chinese intangible cultural heritage methods, with personal narratives to examine themes of heritage, memory, and social issues.
