Xela
Artist Biography / Artist Statement:
Born in Austria, Xela's artistic journey has been shaped by travel and cultural encounters. Australia awakened her desire to paint, while six months dedicated to her artistic practice in Cape Town inspired her African Series and marked the beginning of her international exhibition career.
More than two decades of living in Amsterdam further shaped her distinctive visual language, where symbolism, imagination, and cosmic imagery converge.
Through her ongoing body of work, Cosmic Surrealism — Between Worlds, Xela explores consciousness, transformation, and the connection between the earthly and the cosmic. Her symbolic paintings invite viewers into spaces where archetypal forms, dreamlike landscapes, and unseen realities become intertwined.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, Miami during Art Basel Week, Paris, Barcelona, Cape Town, and Chongqing, China.
