ZaZa Herzet

Artist Biography / Artist Statement

Sandra Herzet is a Belgian visual artist and founder of ZaZart. After a 24-year career in IT, she gradually shifted toward art, developing an intuitive practice that contrasts with her structured professional background. Beginning in 2017 with charcoal, ink, and pastel drawings, her work explored delicate lines, tonal contrast, and the expressive potential of minimal marks.

Over time, her practice expanded toward mixed media and painting, incorporating textured gesso, modeling paste, acrylic, oil, charcoal powder, and natural pigments such as bister. Through layered surfaces and gestural lines, she investigates themes of inner tension, identity, emotional release, and the fragile balance between control and surrender.

Rather than impose meaning, Sandra Herzet invites viewers to pause, observe, and feel whatever her work stirs within them.
